Much of the goodness in our lives comes from our online community and family – and we are so excited to share with you about this project!! 

THE SCOOP:

In February, a team of award-winning documentary filmmakers contacted Jen about Ellie! They asked whether they could create a movie about her life, share the girls’ journey in learning and science – and submit it to a major global film festival. Director Amy Herdy said, “What the world needs in these hard times is a story about joy! And if Ellie isn’t joy, I don’t know what is. The world needs Ellie so much.” 🤗 

(After dropping her phone and forgetting how to speak English, Jen did eventually say yes.)

Within a few weeks, the team arrived to Jen’s home in Florida and spent the week playing with and filming the girls. They also followed Ellie’s journeys in science, interviewing researchers around the world about Ellie’s work in interspecies communication. Then they traveled to Hawaii to film Jen’s presentation of Ellie’s scientific findings at the prestigious CHI conference. The girls had ✨their very favorite week of their whole lives✨ as they befriended and played all day (and night!) with the production crew who filmed them. (Ellie still regularly video calls the team to say hi when Jen isn’t looking! 😂 Sweet shout-out to Ellie’s new besties who hang with her! 🥹)
